36.860352 -119.782668Good clean friendly park. not alot of friendly people in fresno except those at Wood ward park. The disc golf course should be larger and expanded that is the only gripe
Birds above. Gardens below. This Asian-themed sanctuary is suburban nirvana..
The Scene
This lush park was created roughly 20 years ago as a haven among new developments and housing tracts in the area. Over 300 acres of land offer four miles of hiking and walking trails, plus an equestrian area. Playground and picnic sports are available to the public. The Japanese Shin Zen "Friendship" Garden portrays the four seasons with exotic floral displays. Daffodils, plum and cherry groves symbolize spring, pine groves portray winter, shade trees represent summer, and birch, tulip, and Chinese pistachio trees lining the garden call to mind cool autumn days any time of year.
When to Go
Guests are welcome from dawn to dusk every day of the year, but the seasonal blooming of certain flowers is one of the park's simplest pleasures.
What to Bring
Comfortable shoes are a must; Woodward is best enjoyed when it's explored on foot. Pack your camera and binoculars because eye-catching flora and fauna are everywhere.
