Fresno >David's Bridal
no bride deserves this type of a headache.
i went to the david's bridal in******* fresno, ca *******on shaw/fresno. this was one of the worst headaches of my wedding. i completely enjoy the wedding planning experience as my fiancee is incredibly helpful. unfortunately, i fell in love with a dress at david's bridal and had a very helpful consultant. because of this, i ordered my dress, veil, headpiece, bra, slip, and all my brides maid's dresses from here.
my first appointment went well due to the wonderful consultant. after this, everything went downhill. of all of my brides maids, only my sister received a phone call when their dresses came in. the only reason we even found out the other dresses came in was because she asked when she picked up her dress and was able to take theirs home as well.
my wedding dress was scheduled to come in about may 15th. on may 26th, i figured i'd give them a call to check the status (figuring at least a slip could have come in). it was at this point, they tried to say that everything had "just come in." this is not possible as all pieces were sent out on different dates and from different locations.
************i couldn't believe i didn't even receive a phone call when my wedding dress came in!*****************
when i picked up the dress, i figured i should at least check to be sure everything was there. turns out, they ordered the WRONG BRA SIZE!!!!! when i told them this, they seemed to think it wasn't their fault (but we all know, no woman ever accidentally claims to have a smaller chest than they actually have). the correct bra size was a style that was discontinued and couldn't be here for my wedding. instead, they decided to go ahead and give me an "in stock" (which means used...i know this because the bra she gave me had a spot in the exact same spot as the one i had tried on a month prior). yes, they cleaned the bra but still made me pay close to full price (i got 20% off because i was a little upset about paying full price for a used undergarment).
needless, to say i am not pleased and think that every bride deserves to find a store that will not add to the stress of a wedding. please do not go to this store unless you have A LOT of time from the time you place your order till the time you actually need your dress. this was a complete headache.
Rude workers. I have gone to David's Bridal now several times, lastly for my daughter in law's wedding party. The workers were so rude, yelling out people's sizes in front of everyone; not helpful; not even smiling. There was absolutely NO customer service. I would NEVER recommend that someone go to David's Bridal - the prices aren't even all that good. You can get just as good at Luftenburgs - PLUS great service!
horrible experience. Horrible experience. I would have given it a zero if possible. Made an appt so I could get the special attention they talk about. Once the sales lady (Tyrna??) found out my budget was only $200 she pretty much said there's the dresses and ignored me for walk-ins. I guess I wasn't going to spend enough in the store to get special attention. I was alone becausse I am a travel nurse and did not have anyone to go with me. I really needed some help. You cannot try on dresses alone. Can't fasten the back and zip by yourself. If you plan to go take someone with you to help. Unless, maybe you plan to drop a few grand. Then maybe you will get that special attention.
Wedding dress hunting ground for real-world brides on a budget. Princesses need not apply..
A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.
