Ripped Off. We used this company for our move to a college town 4 hours north of here; they moved us in a semi trailer and we had no problems at all. When it came time to move back to Fresno, we chose Ewing again as we had satisfactory service moving the first time.

When the movers arrived, they brought a small box truck (I think that's what it was called) rather than a semi trailer! It took them so long to try to figure out how to load our furniture and boxes, etc. into it!!!! Of course, not everything fit, so we had to borrow two trucks from my family (who lived 4 hours away) as well as cram stuff in our personal vehicles.

They arrived at our new home well after midnight and I was exhausted when I signed the delivery papers. The next morning, I noticed the movers had added a couple of hours moving time. I called and told the owner this, but he said I signed the paperwork and was obligated to pay it. He then proceeded to tell me that l owed $1,000 MORE than they had quoted me. When I questioned him, he said it was because it took the movers longer than it should have since we had more stuff (we only purchased a bed and couch) - I questioned why he would send a small truck to move me back when originally he used a semi trailer to move us. He really had no reason, but insisted that he wanted the money even though it was his mistake. Not to mention the fact that they didn't even completely move us!!! He was an absolute jerk about it, rude and rather obnoxious in insisting he be paid the extra amount.

I did not pay the over charge, I did however pay the quoted amount even though he did NOT completely move us!!! I feel he and his employees were unethical in their business dealings and would NEVER use them again.

I would not recommend this moving service to ANYONE! Check with the BBB, etc. as I'm sure we're not the only ones that have had problems with them.
