BEWARE!!!!!.
I went to the restaurant for my b day with my two sisters. While the food was being served to us, the waiter spills the tempura sauce all over leg, right between the legs and it looked like i went to the bathroom on myself. The waiter said, "Oh sorry, it doesn't stain." Then he walked off like nothing happened. Then I talk to the manager and all she said was oh you can take that to the cleaner and bill us for it. I was not happy how do they expected me to sit there soaking wet and to enjoy my food. The only options they gave me was to sit there and eat the food or I could just leave. I decided to just leave. HOW VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!! I will not return to the restaurant ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good food when you get it.
I have to admit that I've been here multiple times and more than once I have had my food forgotten or brought so late at the end of the meal that it was pointless to have ordered it. Once you do recieve your meal I hope you caught your waitress to order an extra drink (the alcohol must be low cause you hardly get re-fills). The atmosphere is alittle old school but adequate. The staff is friendly but seem to disapear when the resturant gets busy. The food is good and a fun place to eat.

Be Prepared to Wait A. VERY. LONG. TIME..
The food is good, but the waiting is horrendous!!! Whether you go for lunch or dinner and make reservations or not, the wait is still ridiculous. The food is good, but in my eyes, not worth the wait. Also, if you're going for teppan yaki, it then depends on who your chef is. There are a few veterans, and then there are those who are there to just cook and get the hell out of there. Sushi is good also, but after waiting all that time, its hard to enjoy the meal.

Best Japanese Restaurant i've ever been to.
i love their food and i go every single week at least once a week and i have never had bad service...the only thing is its really hard to get there right when they open for lunch and get seated right away there will more then likely be a wait...but at that its not a long one and the food is worth it... im not a big sushi fan but i have had theirs and its awesome and their teppan is amazing... the servers and cook are always extremely nice... i can never say enough about... but i went to France for 9 days and all i could think about was i couldnt wait to come home and eat Japanese Kitchen! so i encourage people to try it all the time!

Make Reservations!!!!.
Now everytime I go home (Fresno), there is one place that we go out to eat as soon as we are off that plane. JAPANESE KITCHEN!!!!
Yes I do agree with everyone that the sushi here is wonderful, but what I go for is the Teppan!!! Fresh and delicious!!! And what a great price, lunch specials start at around $5.95 and go up to about $9.95 for a Filet Mignon (my fav), don't forget to ask for the hot & spicey sauce. You wont find anything like this. Add it to your fried rice for a wonderful taste, you'll get addicted!!!
If you choose to dine during dinner time, I highly recommend in making reservations. Especially on the weekends. The prices go a little higher, but the Filet is only $19.95. Now if you've traveled to Vegas or anywhere else, you know this is a steal!!! The food is incredible... Try it!!!

Some Of The Freshest Sushi Around.
Koji-san and his staff put out exceptionally fresh sushi and sashimi. Don't miss the Seaweed Salad and the 50-50 rolls and blue fin two ways are both great as well. Service can be spotty--sometimes a hot towel, sometimes not and not real consistent with water. But the rest of the experience makes up for inadaquacies in service.

Best Sushi in Town!.
Located on the edge of N.E. Fresno and Clovis near Fresno State, the Japanese Kitchen offers teppan and sit-down meals, but it is best known for its huge portions of the freshest sushi in town. No doubt, this is the best sushi in town!
