Big portions, not very tasty. Bobby Salazar's is more like a cafeteria that a taqueria. The food has been prepared in advance and sits in big trays. Some dishes are finished off under a broiler.

Price is high. If you want authentic Mexican, stop at any Taqueria truck on the side of the road. It will be fresher, tastier and cost a third.

Great place to take a date.. I live near this restaurant and frequent it quite often. It's full service restaurant not a taqueria. Those who call it Sal's though are miss informed. Sal's is a restaurant in Selma owned by a relative of Bobby Salazar, but the restaurants have no affiliation. The food is good with healthy portions. The dim lighting gives the restaurant a romantic ambiance. Theres also a bar in the back which is a good place to go watch the game on the weekend.

Sal's serves casual, hearty Mexican food in hefty portions.. The Scene
Bobby Salazar's Taqueria is one of Fresno's most popular Mexican restaurant chains, with a great atmosphere and a full bar. Regardless of the location, service is always cafeteria-style. While self-service might not be everyone's idea of dining out, the great food and generous portions more than make up for the lack of waitstaff.

The Food
The chicken chimichangas are great, but the burritos are even better. There are seven different kinds of meat to choose from when building your burrito, along with the requisite lettuce, tomatoes, jack cheese, sour cream, rice, beans and more. The guy behind the counter will make anything you want if they have the ingredients, so bring your imagination and a healthy appetite.

Dish to Die For
Try the monster burrito, but remember to ask for a doggie bag.
