Fresno >Food & Dining > Elbow Room
Won't be back. Went there last night with my husband, it was our first date night in a loooooong time, (we have 2 kids and 1 is an infant) so we were excited. The food was great, but the service was horrible. As soon as she found out I used to work there, (like 9 years ago, and only for a few months!) her attitude changed. She became snotty and rude. I asked her about the Ceviche, just ASKED, and she ordered it for us. When it came to the table by someone else, I told her we didn't order it, our waitress came over then and said " you ordered the ceviche, right?" I told her no, I asked about it. She walked away shaking her head. She talked in the beginning about how she got in shape for about 5 minutes. When I proceeded to tell her I am dieting and working out also, she walked away and wasn't interested. We had been sitting about 10 minutes at that time and were ready to order. The rest of the meal, she pretty much ignored us and had attitude. (she's been there forever, looks to be late 30's, early 40's, tall, thin, dark hair). All in all, very disappointed. I feel the waitress pretty much ruined our date night. Sorry you still work there and I don't honey, but don't take it out on a PAYING customer! I understand Elbow Room has been around forever, and their food is good, but there are plenty of restaurants w/ great food AND nice service in Fresno, Elbow Room needs to work on their service if they want to keep customers coming, because I know I won't be back.
Old, Cold, and Time to Go!. As a college student - I used to like to hang here - in the past year they changed the menu, hired snotty staff, and the atmosphere just reeks with old and cold. Save your money - go North in Fresno!!!
Bad service. The food was overpriced and not worth it. The atmosphere was drab and depressing. The crowd were much older men. Our waitress was a blonde miss with a bad attitude and was more interested in showing off her implants than giving good service. I will never enter that place again.
Very uninspiring service and food.. Sad inside. Service was a bunch of people who really didn't care. Food was boring. Tried the place several times. Didn't really see baseball on or the Kentucy Derby. STill I went there, thinking it would be something kinda special. NOT! Lots of old reputation but nothing to back it up. Very disappointed.
Fun in Fresno. This is not a gourmet restaurant, but the food is good, the service is friendly, and it's one of the best restaurants for socializing in Fresno.
Two in One. The Elbow Room is Great for Lunch and light entertaining, but for some of the best dining in the Central Valley don't miss the Chef's Table connected.
DARK. The patio is nice to dine in good weather. The inside is dark & cavelike. Out dated decor. Reminds me of Reno. Food is OK, but inconsistant, sometimes great, sometimes not. I work in the area so I dine with co-workers frequently for lunch. If you are not the who's who, you might not get the best service. Sad but true...
Simple, delicious food served in unpretentious surroundings makes this restaurant a city staple..
The Elbow Room is a combination bar and restaurant where business people congregate after work to unwind and enjoy the casual atmosphere. Service reflects the friendliness of Fresno as a whole. Patio dining is available.
Signature items include the steak sandwich covered with melted cheese and onion rings, but other sandwiches and burgers are equally good. Hearty pastas include the Southwest with chicken and cajun spices, lobster pasta or portobello mushroom-stuffed ravioli. For the mushroom lover, portobellos also appear in a mouth-watering appetizer.
Dish to Die For
Try the bacon cheeseburger, one of the city's best.
Local Hangout!. Located in Figarden Village in Northwest Fresno, this gem was a great watering hole when it was located across the street. Moving several years ago only enhanced its food, service and decor. Before a game, during a game, or after a game, there is no better place to be to wet your whistle and admire Fresno's beauties. Don't forget to try to lamb shanks and mushroom appitizers!
Good food, good wine, good place!. The food here is excellent. It's reasonably priced and you get a lot of quality food. The wine selection is phenomenal. Best items on the menu portobello mushroom appetizer, steak sandwich and glazed porkchops when they have them. I highly recommend the Elbow Room!
