So Happy!

After having bad experiences at two other hair salons in Fresno, I decided to give this place a try. Wow!! They were able to accomodate me last minute and the second I walked in I was greeted by the friendly receptionist. They immediately took me to the waiting room and offered me tea. I felt instant relaxation that I've never felt at other salons. I was greeted by my stylist Camille who was such a sweet girl. I almost wish she was running behind so I could relax some more!! My haircut started with a wonderful neck and scalp massage which is standard with all their hair services. Later I was greeted my another woman while at the sink who gave me a hand massage. The only weird thing is she only did one hand!! I'm not sure if that is the norm, and I was too embarassed to ask about the other hand! During the styling, they teach you about all the products they are applying. I seriously thought I was going to get the sales pitch and pressure me to buy but there was none of that at all!! I am very happy with my hair and I have finally found a salon in Fresno!! This place is truly first class and without the first class prices I was paying elsewhere! With the added features, I am more than a happy customer.

- Cons: Why only massage 1 Hand? I know it was free, but.....

Amenities Day Spa and Salon in Fig Garden

I went into the Amenities location with the hope of getting some help with their makeup products. After sitting around for about five minutes and finally asking if I could get some help (there were no customers in the store, only employees) Rachael Busenhart approached me smaking her lips with food in her mouth and asked what I needed. I explained that I would like to try on makeup and she suggested I start putting some colors on my hand? When I asked if I could be matched she stated that she could try to match me but since I was already wearing makeup that it might be kind of hard -- okay! When I suggested she remove my makeup she only said "I'm sorry I am not that good at this." At that point I walked out --- RUDE service and staff that are not knowledgeable - total turn off and I will not be returning!

Avoid unless you like poor quality service and haircuts

I had a terrible color and cut experience at Aveda in Fresno and even though I went back to have the color fixed, they couldn't tone down the brassiness. I didn't even ask them to fix the cut because I was afraid of what they might do based on the poor quality of the original cut. There wasn't even a scalp rub or hand massage to distract me. Worse yet, I wrote the owner a detailed letter regarding my experience and what it had cost me have my hair done poorly by Aveda and then again correctly at another salon. She didn't even have the courtesy to respond: no "I'm sorry," "please give us another try" or even a refund. She obviously doesn't care what people think of her salon or Aveda.
- Pros: It was in a convenient shopping center
- Cons: lack of skill by the salon personnel
