Thumbs down for Thai House. Spring rolls seemed to be comprised of house salad (bag) - no shrimp, chicken, basil or cilantro. As such, they were quite bland and the dipping sauce was no better. Curries were pretty decent except for the big blob of unincorporated curry paste in my dish. Rice was a la carte - weird. Finally, we (4 people) were charged $16 for two pots of lipton tea. I think they could be (or were?) a great place to eat but they need to get on the ball. Good thing they aren't the only Thai show in town.

Best Thai in the Valley. The Thai House is one of my favorite places to eat in Fresno. After living in Thailand for a short amount of time, I fell in love with the food. I have tried almost all of the Thai places here in Fresno and found the Thai house to be the most authentic (next to my wife's family?s cooking). All of the wait staff have been extremely friendly and very accommodating. I have even ordered items off the menu and they prepare it with no problem. I wouldn?t go if I was in a rush, they prepare their dishes from scratch when you order so it takes a little longer, but is worth the wait. One of the times I was there, they were hosting monks and I was able to be blessed by one. This is not the restaurant for you if you are expecting Americanized Thai Food. The authentic food, extensive menu, decor, music, and even dress of the staff make you feel as though you are in Thailand. I would recommend for all to try.

Biggest disapointment. My wife and I recently went to the Thai House for dinner. She had been there before a few years ago (what happened?!!), and this was my first time there. We have heard good things of this restaurant, and saw the great reviews here on citysearch. So we went on a date and the experience was almost ruined because of the poor everything we experienced from this restaurant. First off, they seated us next to the door (not recommended). Worst seat in the house, the cold draft from the front door ruins the evening, and the music from their speakers are so ridiculously loud in the front it feels as if you are at a concert rather than dinner at a nice restaurant. And, besides, the music isn't even authentic, it was contemporary rock. Secondly, the food that we ordered were Thai favorites of ours but we were disappointed by this place's attempt at them. I had ordered the cashew chicken and my wife had ordered the green curry. My cashew chicken was absolutely disgusting! It was nothing like any Thai cashew chicken that I've had before, almost like it was in a gravy sauce. My wife's green curry was an ok attempt, but it looked anything but appetizing. The presentation of food was not what I had expected from a well-established, well-reviewed restaurant. For an appetizer, we wanted to try something we hadn't tried before, so we chose the goldbags. Yuck! It was like eating chicken flavored baby food. Pure nastiness! Even the sweet and sour sauce was watery.

Now. Atmosphere. All of these reviews say that the atmosphere is great. Well, I have to disagree. There was an odor coming from god knows where. Probably the in-door fountain ten feet away. I already mentioned the music, the booths were uncomfortable, and every flower on the table was dead!

Two positives: they have bathrooms for when you get sick after you eat your food, and, they have pictures in the menu for those of us that cannot read.

If you want quality thai food, go to million elephant.

The best Thai food in Fresno. it's hard foir me to admit how very much I am addicted to this place. I eat at this place almost every time I eat out . . . most recommended dishes are any of the spicy options from the vegetarian section. ask the wait staff to recommend any dish, based on your tastes. the chicken satay is a great appetizer. the desserts are all good. especially the fried banana, the custard or any of the ice cream options. great atmosphere.

Insanely good Thai food!. One of my favorite places in Frenso, but Thai food in the Valley. Go for the basil rice, the goldbags (amazing), coconut icecream for dessert! So, so good!

User review by cleggy. The Thai House offers fantastic service in a beautiful setting. Cozy booths that seat 4 people quite comfortably provide an intimate arrangement for a romantic evening or a family gathering. The staff also appears willing to accommodate larger groups at center tables. I have visited the Shaw/First location many times and am always compelled to return. The menu is well organized and has many vegetarian selections. Try the Thai Iced Tea!
