Australian tchotchkes and brews give this quintessentially American restaurant a distinctive Down Under flavor..
In Short
Boomerangs, Aussie flags, kangaroo portraits and faux aboriginal art honor the homeland's wilderness, but Outback delivers a polished version of rusticity with varnished blond-wood booths with matching wainscoting and casually uniformed waitstaff. Besides more than a half-dozen cuts of steak, diners can pick from large-portioned entrees like ribs, chops and shrimp or chicken "on the barbie." The Bloomin' Onion, a large onion dipped in batter and deep-fried, is an appetizer with a following.
typical chain. this is your typical steak chain. food is fine. not great but not bad. service is okay. avoid on weekends and holidays.
not for romance.
I have been only to three different Outbacks but every one of them has been quite noisy...lots of children and open conversation.
So, a family place it is, but don't plan on a romantic nor a business meeting!
Consistantly Good. This is a very consistant chain eatery. Good value, excellent service, and fine food. Usually very busy so be prepared to wait, but it is worthwhile.
Consistently good steakhouse!. This chain steakhouse always has a line, so be prepared to wait. The decor is nothing special, but the food is always good, the service quick, and the waitresses cute! Always a good stand-by if you can't get into another steak house.
