The food is delicious and the waiters are very welcoming. It has an elegant ambiance that makes you feel relaxed and happy. This is my favorite restaurant in the city.

No longer the best Mexican food in fresno.. I give this restaurant 2 stars because of past visits. We have been regular visitors to both locations for the last 15 years. With few exceptions, the food and service has been wonderful wonderful. However, something has changed over the last few months. In the last 4 visits (2 visits each at both restaurants) the food and customer service has become average at best. We went to the restaurant for the last time tonight, it was a busy night so we were given a new waitress. She didn't seem to know what she was doing and was nowhere to be found for most of our dining experience. Our food was cold and the ingredients didn't seem nearly as friend as before as before. The final straw was we waited 15 minutes to be paid, our waitress was nowhere to be found. We had to go up to the front to pay. I doubt my family will be visiting again.

Very Disappointing. After receiving the mailing coupon, I read several reviews online about this restaurant. Being favorable reviews, and close to our home, we decided to give it a try. Why not? People have called this Fresno's best Mexican food. To begin, the server was not very personable. The chips were mostly broken pieces and very salty. The food arrived promptly and was served very hot...excellent! The quality of the food was ordinary to disappointing at best. The chicken enchilada my wife had was dry and bland. The chile relleno was soggy. The seafood in my burrito was very pungent with brine, giving the impression it had been sitting around for quite some time and improperly cared for. I must add at this point in the review I have almost twenty years experience in food service from the kitchen side and have worked with some top rated chefs. The rice served with my daughter's and wife's meals was soggy and unimpressive. All in all, a very disappointing meal ..... especially for the price! We have had a much better Mexican meal at the corner of Shaw and West! We will not be back!

Unexpectedly poor Mexican food. Well, as a huge fan of Mexican food, I like to think that I enjoy a variety of different styles of Mexican food, but I was very disappointed in Plaza Ventana. We have given the restaurant a couple of tries and always left unsatisfied.

Our last visit was no different. One person had a combination plate, I had a burrito and another friend had a chili relleno dinner. Each had the same reaction, very little flavor.

On a positive note, the salsa was pretty good. We will try one more time in a few months.

Excellent food. Plaza Ventana is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Fresno. It can get a little crowded and noisy, but the food is top notch with huge portions.

Great margaritas. margaritas here are awesome. sometimes there's a buffet lunch which is a great deal for the price. they also have dancing on the weekends.

Magaritas and nachos. The waitstaff is friendly, the karaoke is funny, and the drinks are strong. If you're looking for a laidback good time, you can't go wrong.

Authentic & hearty Mexican quizine. I love the food at this particular Plaza Ventana. If you like carne asada and you like shrimp, you have to try the Surf and Turf Wrap with black beans. SO GOOD! For some reason, the Plaza Ventana on Blackstone does not hold a candle to this Plaza Ventana on west Shaw. I have been to both several times and prefer the food/service of the west Shaw location hands down. I know you will enjoy!
