My family and I met Spike and Jenny back in 2003 when we were looking for a good, safe and friendly place for my daughter to learn how to horse ride. We soon fell in love with horseback riding because of the great atmosphere that Spike and Jenny fostered on their ranch. Not only did my daughter learn how to ride but my two sons as well. We eventually purchased a horse from them and they were a God send for us to learn just how to care and feed our horse. We spent about a year or so out there at the ranch on a regular basis and then moved to a ranch closer to our home since we were commuting an hour back and forth to the ranch. We have only the best of memories from our time spent at Shady Lake Ranch and have on occasion crossed paths with Spike and Jenny since those days and I can honestly say it's like seeing old friends again. I accidentally came across this website page and felt that I had to give my own testimony of what happened when I was involved after reading some of the negative comments. Owning or being involved with horses is a huge commitment and a lot of work, just hang around the ranch for a day or so and see the care the horses require and then think about how all of that work needs to be done every day of the year! Spike has many years of experience with horses and I can only say that it was great to see how he could handle the horses and read them to know what they needed. Jenny adds her experience when she teaches the kids to ride. I testify to their responsibility, integrity, honesty, reliability and hard work on the ranch and would highly recommend them to whoever is looking to really live with their animals and work with them.

Shaddy Lakes Ranch offers a wonderful environment for both children and their parents to enjoy equine activities. The staff and owners of Shaddy Lakes Ranch are knowledgable and professional about all aspects of horsemanship. They also provide excellent care for all horses boarded at their facility. I would highly recomend a visit to Shaddy Lakes if you are interested in learning about horses, boarding a horse or just want to spend a relaxing day on an awsome horse ranch.
