If billiards isn't your game, there's still lots to love at Avalon: dart boards, shuffleboard, television, pinball, and even a special cigar room to get past that pesky California smoke-free workplace law. A lush green interior with brass fixtures can make the place seem posh, but the crowds on the weekends are definitely not snobby. Expect to play pinball next to a guy who does drywall and another who's the mayor's son, and you probably can't tell the difference until one talks about his spring break in Mazatlan. Bartenders are quick and service is good, but it's strictly a beer and cider establishment.
